Westflux Successfully Signs GMOU with Akarai-Aboh Community Leaders
Last week marked a significant milestone for Westflux as our team successfully concluded and signed off the Global Memorandum of Understanding (GMOU) with the leadership of the Akarai-Aboh community.
The signing ceremony, attended by key representatives from both Westflux and the host community, underscores our organisation’s commitment to building long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with our stakeholders. Beyond being a contractual agreement, the GMOU serves as a framework for collaboration, dialogue and sustainable development initiatives that will positively impact the community throughout the lifecycle of our operations.

Strengthening community partnership
Westflux recognises that sustainable project execution extends beyond technical capabilities—it requires active engagement and inclusivity. The GMOU reflects the shared intent to implement community-driven programmes, ensure transparent communication, and align expectations with local needs.
Speaking during the signing, members of the leadership acknowledged the importance of the partnership and highlighted their readiness to collaborate in ensuring a smooth and progressive work environment.
A commitment to shared progress
For Westflux, the GMOU solidifies the foundation upon which we intend to co-create value with our host communities. It is a key step in demonstrating our ESG focus areas, particularly around social inclusion, economic empowerment and responsible operations.
The event was also an opportunity for both parties to interact, discuss future engagements and reinforce the spirit of cooperation.
We appreciate the Akarai-Aboh community leaders for their openness and support. Together, we look forward to a productive relationship built on trust, mutual respect and shared development goals.
