Nigeria has faced a severe shortage of energy supply to both industrial and residential consumers for decades. This state of affairs have held the country down from attaining it’s potential. At the same time, Nigeria is a very large oil and gas producer with very significant deposits of gas. According to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) As at 2022, Nigeria produces 209 Trillion standard cubic feet of gas; making Nigeria to be among the top 10 countries with the highest natural gas deposits in the world. This presents a huge opportunity to use the abundant natural gas resources to solve the energy deficiency in the Nigerian economy.
Westflux is currently building a small scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant at Aboh/Akarai, Ndokwa East LGA, Delta State. The objective for developing, fabricating and operating the plant is to enable supply of LNG to industrial cilents and large residential estates in the immediate vicinity of the plant in the short term, to the Nigerian economy in the mid-term and the larger West African economy in the long term. The plant is designed for full capacity of 50 million standard cubic of gas per day, and would be built in phases.
